We met with Executive Director Chad Hershberger to discuss the reasons he, after 23 years, decided to adopt a camp management software and shifted the camp’s systems onto CampBrain.

Efficiency and time savings
Chad notes how CampBrain “gives us some considerable time savings and staff time. It’s been a game changer for us.” Not only that, but “the benefits of having a system, particularly CampBrain, far outweigh the cost. The cost is what we were already paying people in doing other things, and now they can do more important things than enter data.”
Improved camper experience/safety
Having centralized camper information readily available has helped Camp Mount Luther create a smoother and safer experience for both campers and staff. With important details accessible in real time, staff members can quickly reference medical information, dietary needs, and other critical records when they need them most. One great example of this that Chad notes was “our food service person can check in to see if there are any allergies.”
Enhanced reporting
Moving away from spreadsheets and manual tracking has also made reporting significantly easier for the Camp Mount Luther team. Instead of pulling information from multiple places, staff now have a centralized system that allows them to quickly access the data they need for day-to-day operations and decision-making. Chad notes, “It’s nice just to be able to click a button and everything is there. We have that central hub that’s easily accessible for everyone.”
