Who We Are

I didn’t attend summer camp as a child, but as the youngest of six boys in rural Vermont I spent my youth exploring the outdoors; at times it felt like I lived at a camp! My love of nature remains and I continue to live in rural Vermont with my wife and three sons enjoying the outdoors together through hiking, mountain biking, and lots of sports. My entire career has been focused on providing software to empower recreation organizations and I am thrilled to immerse myself in the camp world helping CampBrain provide software that camps love to use.

Working as part of a dynamic team that is composed of highly skilled, creative, and motivated people inspires me daily. Exploring the latest technologies with the goal of providing the best experience for our clients creates a uniquely rewarding environment.

After working at summer camp for 7 years, I wanted a way to stay involved in camping. I was fortunate enough to begin working at CampBrain, where I get to experience camp everyday talking with camps all across North America and attending conferences throughout the year. Not only do I get to speak with great people, I get to work with great people that are passionate about what they do and how they do it.

Having little exposure to the camp industry prior to joining CampBrain, I was uniquely inspired by the incredible daily effort put forth by our camps to provide the best possible experience for every single camper. Identifying and solving tough problems is what drives me. Let me handle the tough issues so that our camps can focus on delivering the best service to their parents and experiences for their campers.

Camp has had a huge impact on my life. The lifelong lessons you learn as both a camper and staff member have molded me into a dedicated, hardworking teammate which I bring to work with my colleagues and clients every day. I love to talk to clients about camp and help them solve their problems and make their camp lives that much easier. Working with CampBrain has afforded me the opportunity to continue working with camps and building these strong connections.

I didn’t quite know what to expect when I started working here. I certainly did not expect to become good friends with a large number of co-workers. CampBrain has introduced me to a ton of new skills and experiences I was not previously familiar with, and I take pride in working here, because I know what we do genuinely helps.

Stumbling upon a children’s camp many summers ago whilst visiting Canada is actually what propelled me to pack up my whole family and worldly belongings, and cross the ocean to live in a country where enjoying the great outdoors is simply a fact of life year round! Little did I know I’d end up working in the camp industry here too, but having always been a computer nerd type, it’s hard to imagine a better combination! #OneHappyCamper

I have worked as a Data/Business Analyst in the past and enjoy the process of solving a problem. That is what drives me. Being at CampBrain, I have also realized that the process does not end at finding a solution. To be great at what I do, effective communication and involving the camps in the problem-solving process is extremely important.

Coming into the office every day and churning out features that seem to "scratch an itch" for people is what really drives me. I've always believed that software should work with you, not against you. Knowing that I'm building software that matters to people makes working here worthwhile. That and the baked goods…

I am a huge nerd that loves being able to work with technology. The extremely positive environment of the people here and the clients we service has had a dramatic effect on my approach and non-technical skills… and I am glad to push that energy back into my work. I love being in a position where putting extra effort into client satisfaction is immediately noticed and appreciated.

I admire people who are witty and funny. Having worked at summer camps in Europe for 5 years, I understand the impact that laughter can bring to kids. But, I also understand the impact lightness and laughter can bring to a work environment. Humor, solving challenges, being around great people, enjoying the outdoors…these are the things that matter to me…oh, and my dog, Luna!

Working with CampBrain means that my job makes a difference; making sure every person's experience with camp is a smooth one! I believe that our company is unique because it takes driven, passionate people and gives them the opportunity to connect personally with each client, building strong relationships and creating a strong team dynamic you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

My big goal in life is to fulfill goals! I enjoy working and directing my energies toward actionable excellence in all my solutions. At CampBrain, there are constantly challenges coming from everywhere and there is never a slow day at the office. I am a total addict to helping folks out and our customers make solving problems fun! Since I was 10 years old, my life has revolved around camp. After my last summer working at camp, I didn't think I'd find another environment with such funny, weird, motivated, and caring people. I'm so grateful to have found CampBrain where I spend my days collaborating with the best people on a product that helps so many camps everyday. When I'm not working, I enjoy baking, live music, and backcountry camping.

I fell in love with camp over four summers as a staff member at Camp Robin Hood. Having never attended camp as a kid, I was amazed at the impact the camp experience has on everyone involved. The opportunity to connect with like-minded clients and co-workers makes it easy to come to work every day. It is inspiring to learn more about all that camps have to offer and fulfilling to know that I am helping them make a differenc

Having been in the camp community for over 14 years as a camper and staff, I have always believed in the importance and benefit of camp. Working at CampBrain has been a great way to stay involved in a community I love. When I’m not at work you can find me baking cakes, pies, or doughnuts from my tiny kitchen, hiking in a forest, swimming in a lake, or rock climbing.

CampBrain is a great place to be. To work with innovative, like-minded people in a fun environment makes it a joy to walk into work every day. It makes me happy to learn about and work with all the amazing camps out there. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me exploring our big city with my two future budding campers!

I grew up in Toronto riding the rails of the TTC, supporting the Blue Jays and the Leafs (and jumping on the Raptors bandwagon that one year), and living the big city lifestyle. Then came the great pandemic of 2020 when I moved to Nova Scotia and formed the official East coast contingent of CampBrain. When I'm not working you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors on foot, by bicycle, or paddling a kayak or canoe.

Spending fourteen years on the shores of Eagles Lake let me be a kid well into my twenties, and I am incredibly lucky that my grown-up life has let me keep a foot in the camp community! Camp taught me so much and I can’t express how lucky I am to be able to bring the values that were taught to me there, to CampBrain. Working with people who believe in hard work, creativity and fun make coming to work truly a pleasure. Camp has given me so much, that I am excited that I get to help out the individuals that make it happen for so many kids year round!

Having grown up at camp, I am routinely reminded of the immense impact it will always have on my life. Camp taught me how to work as part of a team and the value that comes when you channel your passion into your work. At CampBrain, I love being able to work with our clients to solve their problems, and help to provide others with the experience that I was fortunate to have.

I could imagine no better way to spend the summer than at camp. The support that the camping community has provided me is unparalleled and I would not be the person I am today if it weren’t for my 13 years at Camp Wenonah. I love that I get to work every day with people who are positive, hardworking, and care so much about what they do. Plus I get to give back to the community that has given me so much!

Having worked many summers at an overnight camp and studying Computer Science I feel pretty lucky to combine interests and call CampBrain home. Being able to work on a project that I feel connected to is a huge motivator. Camp was always a huge part of my life and now I feel great giving back in a new and interesting way! Outside working I might be found pursuing my interests in the outdoors, languages, sport or music.

Nothing is better than doing what you love and camp is definitely what I love most. After spending summer after summer witnessing how camp has changed people’s lives I’m convinced that there is no better place to be. Being in an environment that is incredibly fun and supportive that allows you to be yourself is a great way to grow up. I am forever grateful for what Camp Couchiching has done for me and am so happy to be able to continue working in an industry which is filled with an incredible and passionate group of "camp people".

My many (many) years at YMCA Camp Glenburn were key to by my personal and professional development, making me the person I am today. I am honoured to now be working with our clients, helping them develop and deliver their best programs – programs that are undoubtedly changing lives.

After many years of working at Camp Wenonah, cutting my teeth in the political world at the Ministry of Agriculture and Toronto City Hall, I am proud to say I have found my home at CampBrain. I get to show up every day and work with a group of truly extraordinary individuals and serve some of the greatest and kindest clients in the world. This, along with my love of the Toronto Maple Leafs, keeps me ticking, and is the reason I will be unreasonably cheery if you catch me on the phone!

When you work in the camping industry, you tend to encounter a certain type of person: silly, enthusiastic, selfless, passionate, funny...you know the type. These people make camp an amazing and unique place for kids to learn life-long skills and the toast song. I love working in an office full of these people, striving to help like-minded individuals deliver incredible experiences to the campers in their care.

I moved to Canada 10 years ago and fell in love with this amazing country. I've spent the years since wondering where my path would lead to. 10 years later, I received this opportunity to join the CampBrain family through a lovely friendship. Here I have found a love for the camp industry and the people that make it up. I love people and find it wonderful to work with people who do too. I am so happy to be here!

Camp has been an element in all of my favourite work. To me, camp means cultivating citizenship, learning to live and play in community, knowing yourself, and connecting with the natural world. It also means working with creative, empathetic, energetic people! I am fascinated by people - what makes us tick, our stories, how we grow, and how we work together. Out of the office, you’ll find me in choir, riding my bike, at book club, working on electoral reform, or most likely, seeing some local band!

After spending 19 years at Camp Couchiching, I can say that my strongest friendships were born there as a camper and staff member. While working in the camping industry I picked up some of my favourite hobbies, like rock climbing, hiking, and camping. I know how wonderful and hardworking camp counsellors and coordinators are, which makes coming to work every day something I look forward to.

I consider myself to be a design-driven developer. What I love most about software is the opportunity to find that sweet spot in the middle of logical processing and creative expression. Striving to solve problems by creating something simple, yet elegant, is what keeps me excited. Working everyday with a group of passionate and enthusiastic individuals is the icing on the cake!

I was very lucky to spend 10 summers at camp, as both a camper and staff. My time there allowed me to become a more confident, creative, and compassionate person, and I also realized that I thrive in settings with a strong sense of community. I am happy to have found a great community at CampBrain, and to be able to support organizations that provide similar meaningful experiences to future generations that I had while I was growing up at camp.

I’ve been a camper and staff at many different camps and these camps have absolutely shaped me into the person I am today. I am so excited to have found a workplace that values camp as much as I do. Outside of work, you’ll find me hanging out with friends, working on a DIY project, or probably camping!

Helping people and solving puzzles has always been a passion of mine. Through CampBrain I am able to combine these two loves and build meaningful moments with different communities! I have learned so much about the camp community and am eager to learn more! I spend my days off with my dog, Preston, and my partner Tom dreaming of the next road trip or adventure.

Helping people has always been something I have tried to do in every aspect of my life - whether as a Girl Guide back in my home country of Ireland, a music and art teacher, or a camp counsellor (Camp Can-Aqua has a special place in my heart), I have always taken pride in sharing what I know with the people around me. Camp people are some of the best that you’ll meet - working together in a fun and engaging manner is what we do best, and I’m excited to get to work in this way at CampBrain.

I became a software developer so I could use my technical skills to help people by solving their problems. From my first contact with CampBrain, the people working here stood out with kindness, hospitality, and authenticity. They care deeply for each other, their work, and the camp community. Working with them has been a real pleasure every day and allows me to meet my goal of helping others through my work.

I worked as Technical Support for several years before CampBrain took me on as a Software Developer. In that role I had the opportunity to talk with the people we serve every day. I was amazed at how friendly the camp community is. It was a joy to be able to help the people doing good things in our community. Since then, CampBrain has given me the opportunity to learn and grow as a Software Developer. Now I get to use my skills to build the new features those friendly people will love!

I am incredibly grateful for the summers I was able to spend at camp growing up. Whether it be day or overnight camp, I always came home with new friends, experiences, and camp songs that are still stuck in my head to this day. CampBrain has allowed me to work directly with amazing individuals who help make camp such an unforgettable experience for kids. Outside of work, you can find me planning road trips to anywhere and everywhere or attending live theatre whenever I can.

Empathy and excellent customer service have always been the guiding pillars throughout my career. CampBrain gives me a platform to share those values with clients and camps all across North America. By connecting to individuals and clients, listening authentically and providing the best solution to their issues, I'm able to share my love of the CampBrain software, the CampBrain team and the Camp industry. Outside of work, you can find me watching films with friends or relaxing in the closest park (preferably with lots of dogs).

The only thing better than learning something new is sharing that knowledge with others! I'm delighted to get to do this every day. I'm a lightning designer for theatre, so you can spot me checking out the latest shows and giving tips on the best lighting for video calls. I didn't spend much time at camp as a kid, but it's great to be helping clients so they can focus on the fun part - helping creating lifelong memories!

Being a software developer at CampBrain means you get to work with brilliant people who are truly so caring and a joy to work with. I didn't experience camp to the degree that most people here have but I do love spending time outside, especially camping, and I share their passion for helping this amazing community. I have a fascination for all things technology, old and new. Surrounding my workstation are vintage film cameras I have collected. After a long week of screen time, I like to go outside and take photos.

Having spent over 10 years at a variety of different camps both as a camper, counsellor & office administrator, I have always been surprised on how much I have gotten from the experience. From the expected (life long friends), unexpected (leadership skills), and just completely bizarre (I once got to work with an 2000 year old ancient Egyptian mummy). Camp has provided me with so much and I feel honored and privileged to be able to contribute back to the community through the reporting team at CampBrain.

My time at CampBrain has been mind blowing and a world of positive experience compared to my past role in a multinational corporation. The people here are our greatest asset, which followed by an amazing product to the best clients, makes being here so worthwhile. My camping experience is different from my home country, but I find camping here as a bonding experience and I totally love it. Ultimately, it is safe to say, I have never had it better with any company!!

Being passionate about computers when I was a kid made me become a Software Developer. I love facing challenges and putting logical and creative thinking into building tools that will help people in their daily lives. Working at CampBrain with a caring, intelligent, and fun team has been remarkable.

“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life” - I guarantee that's true. Graduation in Computer Science brought me a passion for software development and the discovery of how rewarding it is to code a solution to any problem. Years passed and I keep this flame burning, always looking for a challenge and learning something new along the way.

In my early years, I enjoyed attending summer programs as a camper and some of my favourite memories were the ones made at camp. When considering my education, I always knew I was meant to work with people and after studying Hospitality Management, I was then introduced to CampBrain. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect at CB but was pleasantly surprised to find not only amazing coworkers and wonderful clients, but an incredible product too! Outside of work, you can catch me at the dog park, spending time with family or doing anything outdoors.

I have always enjoyed the feeling of making someone's day a little easier by solving a problem for them. I am constantly learning new things at CampBrain and am happy to be contributing that knowledge to an incredible industry. I have always prioritized spending time in nature whether that is camping, visiting a cottage, or going for a hike with my dog. I think it's important for everyone to appreciate the outdoors and camp is a perfect way to do that from a young age!

I didn’t go to camp as a kid but found myself working there for the majority of my twenties. I’m so thankful for the fun, friends and lessons camp gave me. There is nothing quite like the bond established through friends - from waking up early, staying up late and getting to go swimming everyday of the summer. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and you guessed it, camping. My favorite part about working at CampBrain is helping set up clients for success.

Through years of experiencing the magic of summer camp as a camper and then creating the magic as a staff member, I have always been incredibly passionate about the impact camp has on people's lives. I have primarily worked in outdoor tripping, planning backcountry canoe trips and teaching canoeing. Outside of camping, I enjoy music and learning through podcasts or books. At CampBrain, I love helping clients run amazing programming for their communities.

After years of managing operations at a number of summer camps across Canada I feel very fortunate to be able to use the knowledge and skills I have gained to help other organizations use CampBrain to manage their programs and keep themselves organized. I love games of all kinds and feel most fulfilled while out exploring nature.

This quote is exactly how I feel about UX and Product Design, and it is the objective that propels the work I do. Having been a designer in a multitude of principles, I've found my skills truly shine when identifying experiential barriers and creating simplistic, visually appealing interfaces. I feel privileged to be a part of shaping the experience for the users/clients of CampBrain.

When not working, you can find me diy-ing, sewing, or hanging with my cavapoo, Winston.

I have wonderful memories as a kid attending summer camp.  Even today, many of my hobbies are tied to the outdoor and group experiences I enjoyed when I was young. I was lucky enough during my time as a software engineer and engineering leader to have worked with a software company in the recreation and parks arena. This allowed me to combine the memories of those 'wonder years' with my professional experience. Becoming a part of CampBrain is presenting that opportunity again and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.

If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll likely say my claim to fame is being a “camp person”. I was fortunate to attend camp growing up and it provided me with the building blocks vital to navigating life. When I was old enough to work, I jumped at the opportunity and spent a total of 13 years working at camps and outdoor centres across Ontario. Turning my love for camp into a career has always been my goal, and at CampBrain I have the privilege of supporting hundreds of clients in their camping, outdoor education, and experiential learning endeavours.

Hope, for me, is about envisioning a world of unity, understanding, and shared joy, and I see this vision coming to life every day at CampBrain. My role here is not just a job - it's a commitment to a philosophy that fosters growth and celebrates the joy of camp. I'm excited to be on this team creating unforgettable experiences for our campers and clients.

I grew up in Toronto but have since found my home in Nova Scotia, where I live, work, and play. Joining the dedicated CampBrain Team has been wonderful, as I thrive in environments where passion for both the work and the team run deep. Growing up, I cherished my summers at camp, and now, I'm thrilled to support these same camps, and many more, in personalized and unique ways. Off the clock, I spend a lot of my time practicing, performing, and watching improv. On sunny days, you'll spot me seaside, exploring tide pools in search of fascinating ocean dwellers.
